- Harrogate Christmas Fayre Returns
The countdown has started
and the excitement is mounting for the return of the Harrogate Christmas Fayre this December.
Once again, the town will be filled with the sights and sounds of this bustling festive market. Come for the day or book to stay for a few nights and really soak up the atmosphere.
With so many stalls to visit plus live entertainment, you are guaranteed to have an amazing time. The Candy Cane Express road train will be back to transport visitors around the town centre, and The Little Bird Market returns to the Valley Gardens.
You can explore the many shopping streets including great independents. Find a cosy cafe or sleek restaurant for lunch or dinner and as dusk falls, see the twinkly lights around the market.
The market can be found around the Cenotaph and along Cambridge Street with stalls and wooden chalets selling Christmas decorations, food and drink treats and gifts, crafts, plants and everything you need for the festive season. It’s the perfect way for you to tick lots of items off your Christmas list.
The Candy Cane Express is running Thursday to Saturday between 10am and 7pm (suspended between 4.30pm and 6pm) and Sunday 11am to 4pm.
Enjoy a free ride around the town centre departing from James Street by the market. Hop off at Crescent Gardens to explore the Valley Gardens with the Little Bird Market and the Montpellier Quarter or visit the Mercer Art Gallery and Royal Pump Room Museum.
The Cheltenham Parade stop is handy for restaurants, indie shopping on Commercial Street and Harrogate Theatre.
(Note: the stops at Crescent Gardens and Cheltenham Parade are for alighting only).
The Little Bird Market will be in the Valley Gardens over the weekends of 6-7 and 13-14 December.
Spend time exploring the beautifully set out stalls displaying lovely hand crafted and homemade gifts. Treat yourself or a loved one to a special gift this Christmas, knowing you are supporting local artisan producers.
You can also sample some tasty hot and cold food and sweet treats. Afterwards, wander around the gardens with a mulled wine in your hand.
There is a programme of live entertainment happening during the market so look out for these entertainers, musicians and singers as they provide festive entertainment for you to enjoy.
As the markets runs along the main shopping streets, it’s also the perfect opportunity to visit these as well as all the independent shops on Commercial Street, Cold Bath Road and the Montpellier Quarter. You can also buy Harrogate BID gift cards from the Mercer Art Gallery and spend them in many of the shops and restaurants in the town.
New for 2025 is the food area around the Cenotaph where you can buy yummy hot food, hot chocolate and mulled wine.
As darkness descends, follow our light trail around the town centre.
The town centre is beautifully decorated with sparkly lights and the trees along The Stray are also festooned with twinkly lights.
You can follow the trail of lights along the edge of The Stray on West Park where you will find more independent shops and pubs.
The Harrogate Christmas Fayre is open from Friday 5 – Sunday 14 December, Monday to Saturday: 10am to 7pm and Sunday 11am to 4pm.
