Naval Warfare in Peasholm Park

Watch a dramatic sea battle as the lake in Peasholm Park, Scarborough, is transformed and 20-foot replica warships bring history to life with explosions and sound effects.

See the amazing spectacle on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout August.

Adults: £5.50, under 16s: £2.50, family ticket: £14.50 

Scarborough 400 Giant Deckchair Trail

Learn about the story of Scarborough as you follow the free Giant Deckchair Trail around the town taking you along the North and South Bay to well-known landmarks.

There are ten deckchairs in total with each showing a different aspect from Scarborough's history. Perfect for selfies, too!

Settle Flowerpot Festival

Find all the quirky flowerpots around Settle as you follow one of three trails around the town centre, riverside and surrounding area.

Pick up a trial from one of the local retailers, find the flowerpots and answer all the questions.

Who will get the most right answers? This is a great activity for all the family and kids will love finding each one. Treat yourself to a spot of lunch in the town, too.

The Great Yorkshire Circus

Roll up, roll up to all the thrills of the circus in the Valley Gardens, Harrogate from Wednesday 19 – Sunday 30 August. Watch acrobats performing breathtaking tricks under the Big Top.

Tickets are priced from £10.00 + booking fee

Adventures in Hundred Acre Wood

Join in the adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends at Ampleforth Abbey on Sunday 30 August. This lovely production features puppetry, live music and storytelling alongside interactive parts where children can join in with all the fun and adventures.

Tickets: £12.00 per person

A Summer in Oz

Visit Mother Shipton's Cave in Knaresborough and step into the land of Oz for a magical day out. Meet the Good Witch of the Glade and the happy Scarecrow and explore the themed displays with lots of photo opportunities along the way.

The park is home to the mysterious Petrifying Well, cave and wishing well and little ones can have lots of fun in the play area. 

Running until Sunday 6 September. Admission by car from £36.75 for five people, admission on foot from £14.00 per person

Wild Superhero Mission at Woldies

Under-11s can join in all the activities in the Wild Superhero Mission at Woldies. Find out about the secret superpowers of different animals including the barn owl, dragonfly and hedgehog. Find the characters on the interactive trail and collect the stamps in your wild superhero booklet.

Woldies is the perfect place for children to learn about, and be surrounded by, nature  with lots of play areas and a miniature train to hop on, too, you're guaranteed a fun-filled day out. 

Wild Superheroes Mission is running until Sunday 6 September. Admission from £11.85
