Walk in the footsteps of early spa visitors in Harrogate as you view exciting exhibitions in the Mercer Art Gallery, from Harrogate’s Fine Art Collection to new shows of contemporary art. Built 200 years ago as the Promenade Rooms, today you will find a wide range of ever-changing exhibitions, perhaps a national touring show of painting, photography, sculpture and crafts, or an exhibition drawn from the Harrogate District Fine Art Collection, and contemporary work by regional artists. The Royal Pump Room Museum, also situated in Harrogate, is well worth a visit, where you can enjoy wandering through historical exhibitions.
The award-winning Craven Museum can be found within the Grade II Skipton Town Hall; a modern multi-arts cultural hub, home to the museum, an exhibition gallery, historic concert hall, and community spaces. The exhibition gallery features rotating exhibitions from local and national artists, community projects, and Craven Museum items, with interactive workshops and hands-on activities providing fun for the whole family.
