This traditional market town sits on the northern bank of the River Ure and is a haven for antique hunters, being home to one of the largest auction houses outside London.

If you want to explore by steam train, you can always hop on the popular heritage railway that travels from Leeming Bar to Leyburn via the charming market town of Bedale.
