North Yorkshire has a variety of exhibitions taking place throughout the year.
The many art galleries in the county have rolling programmes ranging from traditional paintings to more modern pieces that use a wide variety of media including ceramics, charcoal, inks and cloth.
Many displays have travelled around the country as part of national touring exhibitions, highlighting the importance of North Yorkshire’s art galleries, while some showcase the works kept in permanent collections at a gallery.
Photography exhibitions show the dramatic landscapes, towns and people of local, national or international places or more abstract works, all showcasing the skill of the photographer in capturing a moment in time.
Dramatic interior and outdoor installations wow and inspire as giant sculptures fill the surrounding space or add to the landscapes of a countryside or urban area.
Many smaller exhibitions can be seen in venues such as village halls including model railway and LEGO exhibitions.
