Bolton Castle Tea Room
Bolton Castle Tea Room, within one of the country’s best preserved Medieval castles, is a go-to place for refuelling and relaxing with a range of freshly made hot and cold dishes, snacks, cakes, and a selection of drinks available all day.
About Bolton Castle Tea Room
Home-made and home-grown in our historic setting
Set within the historic walls of Bolton Castle, the Tea Room champions everything home-grown, home-made and proudly local. Ingredients sourced from the Bolton Estate shape much of the menu, staying true to a genuine field‑to‑fork philosophy that keeps visitors coming back.
A cool retreat and a warm welcome
The Tea Room is a welcoming haven throughout the day - a cool retreat in summer and a cosy stop after exploring the castle and grounds. Freshly prepared hot and cold dishes are served daily, alongside an irresistible selection of cakes baked on site each morning, including rich brownies, buttery flapjacks and the ever‑popular Victoria sponge.
Families welcome
Families are well looked after too, with a range of child‑friendly snacks, drinks and sweet treats ideal for younger guests. And for those who know to look for them, Annie’s famous Cornish pasties often make an appearance - a much‑loved favourite among regular visitors.
Quality drinks are always available, from good coffee and speciality teas to juices and chilled water.
Book an afternoon tea
For an extra indulgence, guests can pre‑book Afternoon Tea - a beautifully presented selection of savoury and sweet delights, perfect for celebrations or simply elevating a day out at the castle.
Gift vouchers for Afternoon Tea can also be bought in person or online, making a thoughtful present and a lovely way to create lasting memories at Bolton Castle. Booking details and pricing can be found on the Bolton Castle website (link above).
