When you’re visiting North Yorkshire with all the family, knowing you can find great family-friendly places to eat is an important part of your experience. You may have already enjoyed a picnic on the beach or in a park and are looking for somewhere to fill hungry tums at teatime, want a relaxing pub lunch or a mid-afternoon sweet treat. North Yorkshire has some great family-friendly options to choose from.

After a visit to the Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience enjoy lunch in Calvert’s Restaurant with options including jacket potatoes, wraps and main meals alongside a kid’s menu, or tuck into a sandwich with a shake or smoothie from the 1897 Coffee Shop.

Grab an inside table or sit outside in the courtyard and enjoy the views. Choose from a wide selection of yummy homemade cakes, brownies and biscuits to go with your hot drink, or have a warming bowl of soup or a sandwich.

After a day exploring Harrogate refresh energy levels with pizza, pasta and salad plus, of course, their popular Dough Balls. Finish your meal with ice cream if you have room! Little ones can eat from the Piccolo menu with a free kid's activity pack.

The café overlooks the lakes with indoor and outdoor seating. Choose from seasonal menus featuring local produce and enjoy a spot of lunch, a sweet treat or a cosy hot chocolate to warm up after you’ve been in the water.

A sweet treat for hot chocolate fans in Pateley Bridge. Visit this independent café where chocolate is the star. The friendly staff will help you choose your perfect single-origin chocolate so you can enjoy an indulgent hot chocolate or a cold chocolate drink on a hot day.
