Book into your accommodation at Rudding Park Hotel, on the outskirts of Harrogate for a few days of relaxing luxury. Feel the history when you check into the Grade I listed Regency House set in extensive grounds which include a golf course. Once you have settled into your bedroom, head to the rooftop spa and relax in the infinity pool or visit the kitchen garden where the vegetable and herbs used in the hotel’s restaurants are grown in the fifty-two raised beds.

Day 1: evening - a dining experience to remember

FIFTY TWO at Rudding Park

This immersive dining experience at the three-rosette awarded, FIFTY TWO is one to remember. Your evening feels like an intimate dinner party as chef Adam Degg cooks for you. Start your evening with a drink on the terrace before savouring the delicious dishes made using ingredients from the kitchen garden and other ingredients sourced locally accompanied by selected wines. You can even don an apron and help with the prep or choose a song for the playlist.

The Stables Tearoom at Carlton Towers

An hour’s drive from Harrogate is Carlton Towers, near Selby, a stately home venue set in extensive grounds and gardens. Follow the tree-lined avenue to The Stables Tearoom for a spot of afternoon refreshments. Enjoy views of the vineyards while you enjoy a coffee and slice of cake inside or outdoors in the courtyard or indulge in a grand afternoon tea, which is also available on the terrace during the spring and summer months.

The Station Hotel Restaurant

Situated in the quiet village of Birstwith in Nidderdale, the Station Hotel gives all those cosy pub vibes with tables by the open fire, a lovely bar area and restaurant. With outdoor seating for al fresco dining in the summertime, this is a great pub destination whatever time of year. Enjoy a changing seasonal menu featuring pub classics using meat from local farms and fish delivered daily from the coast. The epic Sunday lunch is a real treat with a choice of roasts and all the trimmings.

Enjoy breakfast at Fodder, a farm food shop to the south of Harrogate town centre. Situated on the Great Yorkshire Showground, Fodder showcases the best of Yorkshire food and drink and local farming. Choose from a full English breakfast, egg dishes or bacon butties to set you up for the day. After breakfast browse the shop where the shelves are filled with amazing local produce from jams and chutneys to cakes and artisan bread.

Day 3: lunch: Trendy lunchtime feels

Starling Independent Bar Café Kitchen

Set over several floors of a historic coffee house, Starling offers morning coffee, has a great brunch menu and is known for its pizzas. Find yourself a seat and browse the menu for lunch. Once you have placed your order, sit back and enjoy a lazy meal in super cool surroundings. Starling is central so after lunch browse the shopping area before your next stop.

Day 3: afternoon: A Yorkshire speciality

Bettys at Harlow Carr

Call in to Bettys at RHS Garden Harlow Carr. There may be a queue but that’s all part of the experience! Once you have been shown to your table, browse the menu and check out the cakes and patisserie behind the counter glass. Choose from one of these or try their famous Fat Rascal, a Bettys speciality, a cross between a scone and a rock cake with an almond smile and cherry eyes. Washed down with a pot of tea, it's the perfect way to refresh yourself before exploring the gardens.

Ripon

Spend the day exploring Ripon with its imposing Cathedral, fascinating museums and narrow streets lined with shops and cafes.
