Starling Independent Bar Café Kitchen

An independent café, bar and kitchen in the heart of Harrogate, known as much for its speciality coffee, delicious brunches, lunches and evening food as it is for its carefully selected craft beers and wines.

Since opening in 2016, Starling has become a much-loved meeting place for locals and visitors alike. Whether it's a morning coffee, a leisurely brunch, lunch with friends or drinks and dinner in the evening, Starling offers a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels at home.

Being at the heart of the local community is central to everything we do. We source from local suppliers wherever possible and regularly collaborate with other independent businesses to create authentic experiences and support Harrogate's thriving independent scene.

Our friendly, knowledgeable team is a huge part of what makes Starling special. We put time and effort into recruiting passionate, like-minded people and giving them the training, knowledge and confidence to deliver great customer service and genuinely enjoy what they do.

Starling is also a popular venue for private celebrations, business meetings and events, hosting gatherings of all kinds throughout the year.

And then there's our famous 'Dan's Questionable Quiz' - held every Sunday at 7.30pm. A firm favourite with regulars, the quiz costs just £1 per person to enter, with all proceeds donated to Capture, a charity supporting people affected by Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour (DSRCT) and their loved ones. Everyone is welcome – simply turn up or book a table.

Independent, welcoming and proudly part of Harrogate's community, Starling is a place to meet, eat, drink and enjoy good company, whatever the occasion.
