About Settle Railway Station

Settle Railway Station is a beautiful and historic stop on the world-famous Settle–Carlisle line, one of the most scenic rail journeys on the British railway network. Located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the station offers arriving visitors a stunning introduction to the rugged limestone landscapes, rolling hills, and walking trails that define the area.

Connections to Settle Station

Regular Northern Rail services to settle can be accessed via Leeds and Skipton to the south and Carlisle to the north, and connections from Lancaster, Bradford and Newcastle .

From Settle you can explore more of Yorkshire with access to Harrogate, Knaresborough, Northallerton and Thirsk with a single change.

Settle Station

Just a short walk from Settle’s bustling market square, the station is well placed for exploring the town’s shops, cafés, and traditional pubs. From here, you’re also within easy reach of local walking routes.

Settle Station is equipped with practical facilities, including a staffed ticket office (on select days), waiting rooms, toilets, step-free access to Platform 1, and a car park with bike storage. The station building also houses the Friends of the Settle–Carlisle Line visitor centre, where you can learn about the railway’s history and pick up walking guides, maps, and local tips.
