About Birk Crag
Birk Crag is a wooded area on the west side of Harrogate near RHS Garden Harlow Carr. There are a number of entry points with the most central being from Crag Lane. This can be accessed from Harrogate town centre by following the footpath from the Valley Gardens through the Pinewoods to Crag Lane. The terrain is uneven and steep in places, so it is not suitable for buggies, wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
The woodland landscape features rock formations, and a stream running along the bottom of the crag. Birk Crag is part of the Harrogate Ringway, a 21 mile circular walk around the outskirts of Harrogate. Once through the woods, you can easily return to the town centre or follow the Harrogate Ringway signs to continue your walk.
