Where is Scarborough?
Scarborough is on the East Coast of North Yorkshire, between the Yorkshire Wolds and the North York Moors.
What to expect.
Scarborough is a busy town with a rich history. The town its self is above the coastline with hills that lead down to two bays, north and south, which are either side of a rock outcrop on which you will find Scarborough castle.
Where can I get tourist information in Scarborough?
Whilst Scarborough does not have a physical Tourist Information Centre there are points around the town where you can find information about attractions and events taking place. In the centre of town these include The Stephen Joseph Theatre and Scarborough Library & Information Centre and on the North Bay at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre box office.
Getting to Scarborough
By train
Scarborough Railway station has services from TransPennine Express and Northern.
By bus
The Coastliner 843 service brings visitors to Scarborough from Leeds and York on a scenic route through picturesque villages and beautiful countryside. The East Yorkshire ValeRider 128 bus service links Helmsley in the heart of the North York Moors with the coast and Coaster 12 services from Hull via Filey. Arriva X93 & X94 services bring visitors down the coastline from Middlesbrough via Whitby.
By car
The main roads into Scarborough are A171 from the north, A165 from the south and A64 from the west.

Parking
There are plenty of car parks across Scarborough with some of the largest listed below including the town's Park & Ride services which run during spring and summer. Outside of the centre there is a free ‘disc zone’ system in place of 1,2 or 3 hourly stay times. Disc clocks can be picked up in many of the nearby shops, hotels and cafes.
