Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden
Spend your morning exploring the abbey ruins where children can play hide and seek or dress up as a monk. There are lots of kid’s activities to get involved with especially over the school holidays with family trails, craft activities and games.
The play area is the place for epic fun, and a walk around the deer park is the perfect way to engage little ones in nature as they try to spot the groups of deer. Grab a quick bite to eat at the Studley tearooms or restaurant or enjoy a picnic.
Starling Independent Bar Café Kitchen
After a morning of family adventure head to Harrogate for brunch or lunch at Starling Independent Bar Café Kitchen. This trendy eatery is perfect when you have a hungry family to feed.
Brunch is served until 2.30pm so you can go for pancakes, granola or eggs if you prefer or choose pizza from the main lunch menu, guaranteed to fuel you up ready for the afternoon.
Valley Gardens
Before you leave Harrogate, head to the Valley Gardens to stretch your legs and let the little ones enjoy the play park for a while.
For even more fun why not play a quick round of crazy golf – hire the putters and golf balls from the games kiosk and have a family competition with an ice cream as the winner’s prize.
Stockeld Park
Magical adventures await with lots of amazing activities. Walk or ride the Flying Stocksman land train through the Enchanted Forest and discover the different adventure playgrounds with ziplines, treehouses and climbing equipment.
Take a boat ride on the lake, find your way through the maze and enjoy indoor play in the Playhive while go-karts and outdoor inflatables add to the fun. Kids can enjoy a drink and a mid-afternoon slice of cake before spending some of their pocket money in the shop.
Skipwith Common Nature Reserve
Spend a few hours exploring this nature reserve near Selby with 270-acres to discover. The common is a mix of open heathland, ponds and woodland and is teeming with wildlife especially many insects and birds.
