The White Swan Ampleforth

The welcome is warm and couldn't be more genuine...

 The White Swan is the hub of village life as we welcome locals and visitors alike. Whatever age our customers are we try to look after them. We have highchairs for babies, colouring pencils and activity sheets for children and for the less active sloping walkways to make access easier.  We take great pride in offering space and catering for all events, ranging from christening to funerals. From birthday parties, weddings, shoot parties and host award winning breakfast events for Ryedale. Offering menus to suit most dietary needs. Our friendly staff are longstanding, live local and have a good knowledge of the area which is a great asset to visitors to the area.

Three eating areas offers our guests a choice of where they feel the most comfortable - A quarry stone tiled bar with tables and stools, big screen tv, a log fire and the chat and banter of the locals; A lounge bar, which too, has a bar area with more comfortable seating, dining area and French windows opening on to a patio where on warmer days customers can enjoy the sunshine and amazing views over the valley. Finally, our third area is a cocktail bar leading to the more formal dining room with white linen table clothes and napkins - ideal for special family occasions, wedding and parties from christening to funerals. Our staff are long serving and work together as a team to give customers a warm welcome, a great experience in both locally sourced food and drink.  Dogs are also welcome in the bar area, and Rollo the cocker spaniel is very much a Sunday lunchtime regular.
