About Monk Park Farm
Set across 85 acres of beautiful North Yorkshire countryside near Thirsk, Monk Park Farm is an award-winning family attraction packed with animal encounters, outdoor adventure and family fun.
Whether you're planning a family day out, visiting the area on holiday or looking for a place where children can burn off energy while making unforgettable memories, Monk Park Farm offers something for all ages.
Home to a wide variety of friendly farm animals, visitors can meet Highland cows, alpacas, pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs and many more. Throughout the day, guests can enjoy a programme of animal activities and experiences, giving children the opportunity to get up close to the animals and learn more about life on the farm.
Beyond the animals, there's plenty to explore. Little Thirsk, our imaginative role-play village, allows younger visitors to step into a world of make-believe, while outdoor play areas, jumping pillows, go-karts and tractor rides provide hours of entertainment for adventurous children. With so much to see and do, many families spend the whole day exploring the farm.
Monk Park Farm is constantly evolving, with new attractions, experiences and facilities being introduced to ensure every visit feels fresh and exciting. The farm's recently expanded Food Court provides a comfortable place to relax and refuel, with a range of family-friendly food and drink options available throughout the day. Picnic areas can also be found across the site for those wishing to bring their own lunch.
Throughout the year, the farm hosts a packed calendar of seasonal events that attract visitors from across Yorkshire and beyond. From Easter celebrations and summer festivals to Halloween adventures and The Great Yorkshire Christmas, each season brings new experiences, activities and opportunities to make special family memories.
Education and animal welfare remain at the heart of everything we do. Our team are passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping visitors develop a greater understanding of farming, food production and the countryside. Every animal experience is carefully managed to ensure the highest standards of welfare while providing meaningful and memorable interactions for our guests.
Accessibility is also a key focus, with ongoing investment in facilities to help ensure as many families as possible can enjoy a day out at the farm. We are proud to provide a welcoming environment where visitors of all ages and abilities can relax, explore and enjoy time together.
Whether you're feeding a Highland cow, cheering on the pigs in a race, exploring Little Thirsk or simply enjoying the fresh Yorkshire air, Monk Park Farm offers a unique countryside experience where families can reconnect with nature, animals and each other.
We look forward to welcoming you to the farm soon.

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need to book tickets or can I just turn up?
We encourage booking your tickets online in advance of your visit. Booking online means you will save £3 per person off what it would cost you on the day.
For some events and peak days we have a limit on the number of people that can visit the farm each day for a better visitor experience and to maintain happy, healthy animals. It also allows us to ensure the correct staffing levels.
Pre-booking is recommended for weekends and school holidays as we often sell out (especially if you are travelling a long way to visit)
- I've already bought tickets - can I change the day I visit?
If you created an account when you bought your tickets, you can log in and in most cases you can change your booking upto 48 hours in advance : Please note there will be an admin fee payble to change booking.
For some events we may need more notice to change tickets but this will be made clear in the booking terms and conditions prior to booking.
- Is the farm just for children?
Not at all! While children love the farm, there's plenty for adults to enjoy too. Meet our friendly animals, including several rare breeds, enjoy a leisurely stroll around our 85-acre site, relax with a coffee and bite to eat in our Food Court, or even have a go on our giant Llama Pillow if you're feeling energetic!
We also run popular Adults Only Nights throughout the year, giving grown-ups the chance to enjoy animal experiences, behind-the-scenes activities, great food and a relaxed atmosphere without the little ones in tow.
- Do you offer annual/season tickets?
At present, No – We are reviewing the annual passes due to our reduced opening and are hoping to replace with another scheme soon.
We highly recommend considering our gift vouchers, which can be redeemed for future visits, purchases at our gift shop, and delicious ice creams.
- Do you offer free carer tickets?
Yes, we offer a free Essential Companion ticket for guests who require one, where the visitor holds either:
· A Access Card with a +1 symbol
· A Monk Park Farm Nimbus Registered ID with a +1 symbol
This must be entered at checkout when booking online and shown on arrival.
We are unable to accept alternative documentation such as DLA, PIP, Max Card or Carers Cards.
