About Ampleforth Abbey Tea Room

Set in the beautiful grounds of Ampleforth Abbey and just a short walk from the Abbey Church, our oak-panelled Tea Room is a welcoming spot to relax and enjoy homemade food.  Furnished with Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson pieces, its the perfect spot to enjoy the stunning views across the valley.

We serve hot and cold food throughout the day, including breakfast rolls, sandwiches, salads, daily specials, and a tempting choice of cakes, scones, and tray bakes. You can also enjoy our own Ampleforth Abbey apple juice and cider, pressed from apples grown in the orchard, available to drink here or take home.

Families are warmly welcomed, with high chairs, a children’s menu, buggy space, and baby changing facilities. We cater for dietary requirements, please let us know when ordering. Last orders for hot food are at 4pm. Dogs are welcome in the Abbey grounds, with assistance dogs only in the Tea Room.

Free to visit and open every day from 10am to 5pm.
