About Dino Hunt with Dr Liam Herringshaw - The Rotunda Museum

Celebrate the launch of the South Cliff Dino Hunt, a brand-new dinosaur trail designed to help families explore some of Scarboroughs most remarkable and often overlooked prehistoric evidence.

To mark the launch, join palaeontologist Fossiliam (Dr Liam Herringshaw) on a guided walk from the Rotunda Museum to the Jurassic rocks of South Cliff, highlighting dinosaur footprints left behind over 160 million years ago. These remarkable traces, preserved in the rocks, show that dinosaurs once walked where Scarborough stands today.

Dr Herringshaw has led countless walks along this route over the years, and this new trail provides for the first time a dedicated, accessible guide to the dinosaur footprints of South Cliff. Along the way, participants will learn how scientists recognise footprints, what kinds of dinosaurs made them, and what Scarboroughs rocks reveal about life during the Jurassic Period.

Your ticket includes an Annual Pass to Scarborough Museums and Galleries, plus aDino Hunt activity bag for each child.
