1
Peebles Go Ape066
Morning:

Go Ape at Dalby Forest

Start your morning family fun with some adventure! Go Ape in Dalby Forest takes you up into the trees on high rope activities complete with ziplines, treetop crossings and Tarzan Swings.

The Treetop Challenge is great for parents and older kids as you navigate your way along the course, testing your skills and stepping out of your comfort zone, whereas the one-hour Treetop Adventure is perfect for younger family members or those who prefer something a little less nerve-jangling!

2
Botham's Lemon buns
Lunch:

Botham's Pickering Tea Room & Shop

After burning lots of energy in the trees, this cute tearoom and shop in Pickering is the perfect lunch stop for your hungry crew. Choose something from the all-day breakfast menu or you may prefer a jacket potato, sandwich or toastie.

You can eat inside or in the pretty garden, and there is a separate kid’s menu, too. After lunch, browse the shop and pick up some freshly baked treats for later in the day. With full tums you’ll be ready for more family adventures.

3
Nunnington Hall garden spring
Afternoon:

Nunnington Hall

Explore the hall and gardens at this beautiful National Trust property. Inside the hall, children can play board games and get creative with colouring or have fun outside in the Lion’s Den play area and see which birds they can spot from the bird hide.

Over the summer holidays, children can follow the family trail, meet the different fairytale characters and join in the fun, whether trying out the hands-on activities or dressing up.

When little legs are tired, ask for a rug and find a shady spot where you can enjoy your Botham’s treats in the garden.

The Black Swan Helmsley exterior
Evening:

The Black Swan Helmsley Restaurant

Finish your day with a family meal at the Black Swan Restaurant in Helmsley. The cosy interior is the perfect place to relax after such a busy day with the family. On a sunny day, why not chill in the beer garden for a while before dinner.

The menu is full of pub favourites and seasonal dishes made using locally sourced ingredients and with great kid’s options, too, everyone can enjoy a tasty meal to end your day in the moors.

Be aware

Don't spark disaster

The North York Moors National Park is a beautiful area to visit. During the summer months, please be aware of the increased risk of wildfires. If you decide to eat outdoors, please do not light a disposable BBQ or campfire which can easily ignite the surrounding dry vegetation. Instead enjoy a relaxing picnic surrounded by nature.
