Day 1: Morning

Arrive in Bentham

Begin your adventure in Bentham, a friendly market town surrounded by rolling hills and big Yorkshire skies. Spend the morning wandering the high street where you'll find independent craft and gift shops, cafés and delightful bakeries amongst traditional pubs. History lovers can visit St Margaret’s Church, a beautiful Grade II listed landmark that reflects the town’s long heritage. Head out of town up to the Great Stone of Fourstones, or the Big Stone as it is known locally, a glacial boulder that lies on the border between North Yorkshire and Lancashire. and offers incredible panoramic views across the area.

Take a leisurely stroll along the River Wenning, which winds gently through the town, offering peaceful views or stretch your legs further on some of the Yorkshire Dales routes  – perfect for hiking and cyclists alike. If you're travelling by train, Bentham is on the Leeds-Morecambe line, with regular daily services and easy connections at Leeds from Harrogate and York.

Day 2: Afternoon

Check in at Wenningdale Escapes

A short walk from High Bentham you'll find Wenningdale Escapes, your base for the next few days. Practice your swing at the driving range for some competitive fun, or take on all 18 holes if you're up to the challenge! Enjoy a glass of the local tipple at the 1922 Restaurant where you can also tuck into a delicious meal, then retreat to your glamping pod for a cosy evening.

As night draws in, check in to your cosy glamping pod overlooking the fairways where a peaceful retreat awaits. Enjoy the incredible clarity of the skies above - the Yorkshire Dales National Park is a recognised International Dark Sky Reserve and offers up wonderfully dark nights that are perfect for stargazing.

Day 2: Morning

Stretch your legs

No visit to the Three Peaks area is complete without experiencing the Ribblehead Viaduct, one of the most impressive landmarks in the Dales. Completed in the 1870s, its 24 soaring stone arches stretch across the wild Ribble Valley, framed by the dramatic slopes of Whernside

A popular circular walk begins at the Ribblehead car park, leading you along well‑marked paths to the base of the viaduct. From here, you can wander beneath the arches, admire the craftsmanship up close, and follow a trail that loop across open moorland that takes around two hours. The route offers fantastic views back towards Ingleborough and Pen‑y‑ghent, making it a perfect introduction to the Three Peaks landscape without the full climb.

Day 2: Afternoon

Discover the Three Peaks Villages

You’ll have worked up an appetite after all that walking so it’s time to explore the charming villages that sit beneath the famous Three Peaks, each offering classic Dales scenery and welcoming pubs.

Warm your toes in front of a cosy fire in local pubs where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and tuck into hearty meals before wandering the pretty streets lined with cute cottages. If you fancy exploring further, don your hard hat and head underground at the caves carved over millions of years, or discover gushing waterfalls that offer up Instagramy worth views.

Day 3: Morning

Discover Settle

Just a 20‑minute drive from Wenningdale Escapes, you’ll find the charming market town of Settle. Start your day with breakfast in one of its inviting cafés before exploring historic streets lined with independent shops offering fashion, gifts, and delicious local treats to enjoy or take home.

Discover local museums that share the story of the area, or pop into an art gallery for a culture fix. The town is full of fascinating buildings, with narrow alleys and hidden courtyards to explore, set against the backdrop of some of England’s most dramatic limestone country.

Day 3: Afternoon

Stainforth Force

From Settle, a gentle riverside walk leads you to Stainforth Force along a well‑marked footpath that winds through fields and woodland. It’s a peaceful, mostly flat route, ideal for a relaxed afternoon wander, and takes around an hour each way.

One of the Yorkshire Dales’ most captivating waterfalls, Stainforth Force sees the River Ribble tumble over a series of limestone ledges into a deep pool. Visit in autumn and you may witness one of the area’s most spectacular wildlife moments - the annual salmon run. From late September to November, salmon leap upstream as they attempt to clear the falls in daring acts.

Once you've filled your camera, retrace your steps back to Settle and round off your day with dinner in one of the town’s award‑winning restaurants or welcoming pubs.
