History in brief
Scarborough Railway Station first opened its doors on July 7, 1845, built by the York and North Midland Railway. Designed by renowned architect George Townsend Andrews, the station originally stood on the edge of town and remains a striking example of Victorian railway architecture. Today, it holds Grade II listed status, reflecting its historical and architectural significance and it is one of the oldest seaside railway stations in England.

The station claims to feature the world’s longest station bench, measuring 456 feet (139 metres) in length!
