About Pateley Makers Yard - King Street Workshops

Pateley Makers Yard is a creative workspace for small and artistic businesses in the town.Formerly known as the King Street Workshops the units are housed in a building that was once the Workhouse; where the poor and the homeless of Pateley Bridge were once housed.   The building sits on the steep hill of Church St. and also contains the Nidderdale Museum. This collection of studios, galleries and design spaces for working creative artists is a hive of activity that explores and expresses the creative character of the Nidderdale National Landscape. Many of the individual artists residing at the King Street Workshops welcome the public in to see the works being created through either open doors or by appointment.   Several have works for sale, and many also accept bespoke commissions of work for individuals. The variety of crafts that are practised at the workshops has to be seen to be believed, from glass blowing to stained glass, from stone carving to millinery and much, much more. The tenants can change as new creative businesses become successful and outgrow their premises, so check the website for a list of the artists and crafts men and women currently in the WorkshopsOpening times vary so if you are coming to see a specific artist do check with that individual or make an appointment.
