About Malton Museum
Encounter over a century of history at Malton Museum, and discover the people and events that shaped this market town. First opened in 1935, Malton Museum boasts a nationally significant collection of Roman objects linked to Malton's origins as a Roman fort. The museum tells the story of Malton through the ages, with displays, videos, oral histories and hands-on activities, giving you a full understanding of the history and character of the area. Families can take part in Fido's trail, and have a go at different hands-on activities and dressing up. Check out our website for details of our events, including lectures, guided tours and our annual Roman Festival, held each July.
