Step back in time on a heritage journey through the Yorkshire Dales. Running between Embsay and the beautifully recreated Victorian style Bolton Abbey Station, this historic railway offers steam and diesel rides, award winning tea rooms and scenic walks to Bolton Abbey Priory.
Heritage & Scenery
Bolton Abbey Station has been restored in authentic Midland Railway style, complete with a working signal box and views of the ongoing platform restoration. The line passes classic Dales countryside and is ideal for families, walkers and heritage enthusiasts.
Food & Drink
Enjoy homemade cakes, sandwiches and great coffee at the 60seat Bolton Abbey Tea Room, or stop at the cosy Embsay Coffee Shop. On selected dates, a Buffet Car serves local beers, wines and hot drinks.
Dales Dining and other bookable Experiences
First Class dining trains offer breakfasts, Ploughman’s lunches, Cream Teas, Afternoon Teas and evening Fish & Chip or Curry Express services. Getting Here
Regular Dales Bus services stop near both stations, with the £3 fare cap in place. Free parking is available at both stations. The postcode for Embsay Station is BD23 6QX and the postcode for Bolton Abbey Station is BD23 6AF
