Billy Bob’s is a 1950s-inspired American diner, ice cream parlour and family day-out destination at Calm Slate Farm, just outside Skipton.
The diner serves made-from-scratch American favourites including burgers, hot dogs, pancakes, breakfasts, fries and indulgent desserts, alongside the milkshakes and ice creams Billy Bob’s has become famous for. Families can eat inside the retro diner or, for something a little different, book a table aboard our genuine
American school bus.

More than just somewhere to eat

Billy Bob’s was created to be an experience as well as a restaurant. Children can enjoy our indoor and outdoor adventurous play areas, while throughout the year we add seasonal activities and events which give families another reason to come back.
Summer brings outdoor fun including our Bounce Houses, while Halloween and Christmas transform parts of Billy Bob’s with special family adventures, trails and activities. Our Christmas experiences have become a particularly popular part of the Billy Bob’s calendar.

Made for families

We’re very family focused, but the food is every bit as important as the fun. Our kitchen cooks from scratch and we have dedicated vegetarian and vegan choices alongside our main American-style menu. Billy Bob’s is within easy reach of Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales, making it a great stop for families visiting the area or a destination for a day out in its own right. Booking is recommended, particularly at weekends, during school holidays and for our seasonal events.

Opening hours change seasonally, with Billy Bob’s open daily from 9am to 6pm from February half term through to the end of the October school holidays, and reduced weekday hours during winter term time.

Summer hours – February half term to end of October holidays:
Monday–Sunday: 9am–6pm
Breakfast served 9am–11.30am; last dinner orders 5.45pm.

Winter term-time hours – after October half term to February half term:
Monday–Thursday: 10am–2.30pm last orders
Friday–Sunday: 9am–5.45pm last orders

Christmas holidays:
18 December 2026–4 January 2027: 9am–6pm
Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
