Botham's Sleights

Craft Bakers since 1865, Botham’s of Whitby make delicious Yorkshire bakes using traditional recipes handed down the generations.

About Botham's Sleights

Elizabeth Botham set up her bakery in the ancient fishing port of Whitby over 150 years ago. She began by selling her bread and cakes from a basket at the local market. Botham's traditions are now proudly continued by the fifth generation of her family. We have five shops and three Tea Rooms in Whitby, Sleights & Pickering, North Yorkshire. We are famous for Whitby Lemon Buns, Yorkshire Brack, Plum Bread, Shah Ginger Biscuits and Chocolate Japonaise, although our repertoire includes so much more. Located in the Esk Valley, find our quaint Sleights Shop on Coach Road and enjoy free parking opposite. Our shelves are full of fresh bread, rolls, morning goods, fancy cakes, cream cakes, wrapped biscuits, tea breads and cakes. You can also enjoy takeaway sandwiches and hot drinks, not to mention our famous Whitby Lemon Buns! This shop is the perfect stop as you leave Whitby heading towards the North York Moors.
