About HACS Harrogate Music Festival
Harrogate International Festivals’ Summer Season gets underway with the HACS Harrogate Music Festival, an extraordinary journey through music, art and adventure. The Festival opens on June 26 with a night of Hollywood Hits from trumpet virtuoso Mike Lovatt’s Brass Pack at Harrogate’s Royal Hall. Meanwhile, Festival favourites Oddsocks return with A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the gorgeous setting of RHS Harlow Carr, the feather-rustling House of Burlesque return for a raucous night of cabaret followed by a Silent Disco, and the Festival continues to showcase the next generation of talent with the Young Musicians Series offering a platform for rising stars to shine.
Among the many highlights will be Luke Jerram’s spectacular Gaia Earth installation, an awe-inspiring, illuminated replica of planet earth, which will be on display for 10 days at St Wilfrid’s Church in the town centre. This remarkable artwork will provide a stunning backdrop for Gigs at Gaia, bringing a host of unmissable classical and chamber performances, including Ahmed Dickinson, one of the finest performers of the Cuban classical guitar, organist Anthony Gray performing Hans Zimmer’ epic score for Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, an inspiring performance from Orchestra for the Earth and a Concert by Candlelight with the Marian Consort.
