About Henry VIII & England’s Accidental Protestant Reformation

As part of Tudor Month at Ripon Cathedral, join Diarmaid MacCulloch for a fascinating exploration of Henry VIII’s break with the Pope, the English Reformation, and the political and personal forces that reshaped English identity for centuries.

Henry VIII’s breach with the Pope aligned England with the Protestant Reformation, and so it reshaped English national identity decisively for four centuries.  Yet Henry’s own religious outlook was perplexing to define, and still provokes argument. Prof. MacCulloch explores the nature of his Reformation, and of the politics and personalities which lay behind it: not least, the King himself.

Tickets are £15.
