Visit North Yorkshire 80th Anniversary Gold Cup
About Visit North Yorkshire 80th Anniversary Gold Cup
Oliver’s Mount will celebrate its 80th anniversary this year with the first motorcycle race event taking place back on 17 September 1946. Scarborough also celebrates its 400 year anniversary this year, celebrating the discovery of its spa waters which lead to it becoming the popular seaside resort it is today.
To commemorate both anniversaries, Visit North Yorkshire is working with the motorsport club on a special three-day Visit North Yorkshire Gold Cup 80th Anniversary Event to be held in September 2026.
Since 1946, Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough has been the heart of pure road racing in England, and the Gold Cup remains its most iconic event. This special anniversary year brings added excitement, with guest riders, celebratory races and top competitors all vying for one of the sport’s most prestigious trophies. It’s a rare chance to experience a legendary motorsport tradition in a setting like no other.
