About Boxing Day Football Match & Raft Race
Join us for these traditional annual sporting events all in aid of the Fisherman and Firemen Charity fund.
Each year crowds gather on Scarborough’s South Bay beach to witness the Fishermen versus the Firemen football match followed by the hilarious fancy dress ‘crazy’ raft race from the harbour quayside.
All played in good humour and at full time the opposing team are dragged down to the sea and dunked!
So come along brave the fresh sea air to support this worthwhile cause dating back to 1800s whilst being thoroughly entertained!
FOOTBALL MATCH -
Teams meet next to the Lloyds TSB on Newborough from 10am with tunes from The Comic Band, then walk down to south bay beach for kick off by The Mayor at 10.30am.
RAFT RACE -
Follows football match at 12.30pm.
