About Everest the Hard Way - The Forum

An Evening with British Mountaineering Legends

Join Chris Brown, founder of mental health charity Claro Enterprises, for a very special evening with two of Britain’s most accomplished mountaineers, Paul “Tut” Braithwaite and Alan Hinkes.

Chris has undertaken some extraordinary challenges over the years to raise money and awareness for Claro Enterprises, including climbing Mount Everest. Along the way, his adventures have taken him into some incredible places and, perhaps just as importantly, introduced him to some remarkable people - including two of Britain's great mountaineers, Alan Hinkes and Paul Braithwaite.

Now Chris is bringing his friends together for an entertaining and fascinating evening of mountaineering stories, adventure and achievement.

Paul “Tut” Braithwaite is a hugely respected figure in British mountaineering. His remarkable career includes the legendary 1975 British Everest expedition, where he played an important role in tackling the formidable Everest Southwest Face. His climbing career has taken him many of the remote mountain ranges around the world.

Alan Hinkes OBE is one of Britain’s best-known mountaineers and achieved something no other Briton has done - climbing all fourteen of the world's 8,000-metre peaks, the highest mountains on Earth. His extraordinary expeditions have included Everest, K2 and Kangchenjunga, alongside many other challenging climbs around the world.

During the evening, Paul and Alan will share stories from some of their greatest climbs, offering a fascinating insight into the adventure, excitement, danger and sheer determination involved in climbing some of the world's highest and most challenging mountains.

The stories will be brought to life with incredible photographs and personal memories, followed by a Q&A, giving the audience the opportunity to ask these two legendary climbers their own questions.

Whether you love mountaineering, adventure and the great outdoors, or simply enjoy hearing extraordinary stories from extraordinary people, this promises to be a very special and entertaining evening.
