Wensleydale Railway

Wensleydale Railway is a volunteer-led heritage railway offering families and enthusiasts a great day out in the Yorkshire Dales. Children travel for only £1.00! We operate heritage diesel trains between Scruton & Leyburn. Enjoy spectacular scenery and afternoon teas, fish & chips, gin and curry trains. We host a model railway show, diesel gala and family activities.

Step back in time at our restored stations and learn about 1900s railway life with guided tours by our living history interpreters. Every Christmas, we host Yorkshire’s longest-established THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Rides.
