Learning about Nature
The fairy village of Two Stone Wishes has magically appeared and you can discover the hidden codes to unlock gateways to reveal Studfold’s magical wood and the hidden treasure box. The adventure trail has been designed with primary school-aged children in mind and is a magical countryside experience for all the family. The trail encourages children to be aware of their natural surroundings in an innovative, immersive and exciting way.
Studfold Fairy Adventure Trail
Families can explore the magic and wonder of the Studfold Fairy Adventure Trail from April to September, however between May and August, over 20 magical fairy houses appear across the trail, each with their own story or poem. Pick up a clue sheet and seek out the delightful and colourful fairies and their magical homes.
Along the trail you will discover the fairy codes to unlock gates and reveal our giant story-telling chair, perfect for all primary and pre-school children, their parents, and even their parent’s parents! Children are invited to either dress up in their own fairy wings or borrow some from us. Alongside the fairy trail, there are many other intriguing countryside activities, plus go-carts, ride-on tractors, sandpits and den-building.
Discover the Nidderdale Landscape
Exploration and play mixes with learning as children explore the rural landscape of Upper Nidderdale and discover its secrets. The trail features areas of wide open space for young ones to burn off energy and a variety of play locations, as well as wildlife observation points, where young minds can learn to watch quietly.
Refreshments are available from our Nidderdale Way Café with a menu ranging from breakfasts and light lunches, including sandwiches, to cake, snacks and hot and cold drinks. Our picnic area is available for you to bring your own picnic or, if you prefer, you can pre-order your picnic at the Café to take with you on the trail.
