Shuttleworth Gardens For The Blind
Shuttleworth Garden offers a 'Garden For The Blind', which is planted with very strongly fragrant flowers for the blind to enjoy.
About Shuttleworth Gardens For The Blind
These special sensory gardens are filled with strongly scented, fragrant plants and flowers in raised beds, which are particulary appreciated by the blind.
Within the gardens is a delightful miniature garden known as the fairy garden, which has its own gates and a fairy post box. The gardens were originally privately owned by Alfred Shuttleworth who later donated these gardens to the town.
The gardens are situated opposite the Clock Tower on the Esplanade, and next to the Red Court residence, which was the location for the hospital in the filming of ITVs drama 'The Royal'.
