About Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre
We are a small community run museum & archive preserving the history of Scarborough and its connections with the sea.
Our friendly local volunteers can show you round our changing and fixed exhibitions and videos. We have a few local history books on sale and the public are invited to use our archive for family and local history research. If we are closed you can visit our ‘History Box’ (a converted red telephone box) on the seafront with an audio guide to Scarborough’s story.
You can also walk the Marine Drive and read twenty-nine ‘information portholes’ with fascinating facts about Scarborough’s history.
