Scarborough Fair Collection

A unique collection of working vintage fairground rides, mechanical organs and vintage vehicles.

This fully ‘wheelchair friendly’ museum is now one of the largest indoor attractions in the Scarborough area. A team of staff and volunteers operate the rides, including the Golden Gallopers, Thriller, Cake Walk, Ghost Train and the Caterpillar - telling the story of ‘how things used to be’.

Also housing a large collection of cycles, motorcycles, cars, commercial vehicles and steam traction engines (dating from the late 19th century to 1980s) Highlights include the ‘Iron Maiden’ showman’s engine from the 1960s film, a 1916 Albion WW1 army wagon and a 1915 Napier double decker bus.

At 1pm on Wednesdays there is also a ‘dance to the Mighty Wurlitzer’ organ afternoon in the museum’s ballroom.

Opening details:

Open from Spring until the end of Autumn Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays

The museum sometimes closes for private functions please call ahead of making a special journey.

Accessed from the roundabout beside the Plough Inn on the A165 coast road between Scarborough and Filey. We are adjacent to the Flower of May Holiday Park.
