The beach is an ideal playground for families with the beck providing safe paddling and boating for children of all ages. The beach runs into Whitby sands which makes it a nice length for a brisk walk.
Dog restrictions apply to certain designated areas of this beach between 1st May and 30th September.

Sandsend Car Park is the best place to park with 98 spaces at the north end of the beach. There is also roadside parking which can get very busy during peak summer.

Dog restrictions apply to the main part of this beach between 1 May and 30 September. Dogs are allowed on the outer parts of the beach, away from the main village all year round. Follow signage which is in place.
- Is there toilets at Sandsend Beach?
There are public toilets located at Sandsend Beach. The Sandsend South and Sandsend North toilets are open between 8am to 9pm, 1 April to 31 October and between 8am to 6pm, 1 November to 31 March.
