Lion Inn to Danby Moors Centre Walk

Lion Inn > Fat Betty >Danby Head>Danby Rigg > Moors Centre (7.5 miles/12.07 km/4 hours). Bus set down Blakey (Lion Inn); Return from Danby (Moors Centre). The route can be tricky around Danby Head and across Danby Rigg. Save time? Ask the driver to drop you off 1 mile north of the Lion Inn at the road junction by Young Ralph Cross. It is essential that anyone embarking on a walk across the Moors is properly equipped (water-proof walking boots, waterproof clothing, etc.) and have the relevant OS Maps (Explorer OL26) and compass or GPS. This route crosses open moorland. Make sure you can do the walk comfortably in the time available - otherwise you may have to wait a week for the next bus back!
