Leyburn Old Glebe Nature Reserve
A nature reserve located on a bank above the River Ure with views over the Yorkshire Dales
About Leyburn Old Glebe Nature Reserve
Just on the outskirts of town towards the village of Wensley, Leyburn Old Glebe is a peaceful open space that offers wide views across Wensleydale. This area of grassy pasture and woodland is a valued spot for walking, sitting, and enjoying the surrounding landscape.
Paths crisscross the Glebe, leading through quiet fields and along tree-lined edges, with regular viewpoints looking out towards Pen Hill and the dale below. It’s especially pleasant in spring and summer, when wildflowers appear and the area feels at its most vibrant. Leyburn Old Glebe is an easy escape from the town centre, offering space, quiet and open views.
