About Harrogate 1571 Sculpture
This sculpture in the heart of Harrogate's Valley Gardens celebrates the water, wells and history of Harrogate. This elegant cylindical creation was delivered by Eddie Roberts of Cult-ore and Harrogate Steel and lit by James Bawn of element 3 design.
This lighting installation was commissioned by Harrogate International Festivals and funded by Harrogate Borough Council as part of the cultural programme and celebrations coinciding with the UCI Road Cycling World Championships of 2019. This nine day international cycling event hosted in Yorkshire saw every single race end in Harrogate and 16 competitors awarded the title of World Champion.
Sponsors of this sculpture included Slingsbys, Yorkshire Water, Harrogate Borough Council and Harrogate Welcomes the World and the installation was produced by Harrogate International Festivals.
