A Heritage of British Manufacturing

Based in a 200-year-old converted cow barn in the picturesque village of Clapham, Glencroft is a family business built on proper Yorkshire values. Since 1987, we have specialized in high-quality country clothing produced as locally as possible. While our inspiration comes from the rugged Dales landscape, our production supports the UK’s traditional textile industry, with over 80% of our range still made in Yorkshire mills and British factories - many of whom we have worked with for over 30 years.

The Traceable Clapdale Wool Project

Through our Clapdale Wool project, we collect fleece from sheep on seven farms within just five miles of our shop. By paying farmers significantly above market rates and sharing profits, these products support the local economy. This wool is then scoured, spun, and woven within 50 miles of these fields to create jumpers, tweed caps, hand-knit yarn and more.

A Real Working Warehouse

When you visit our warehouse shop, you can breathe in the distinctive smell of British Wool! You might see Richard - who has worked in the trade since the 1960s - hand-finishing one of our signature sheepskin rugs, or watch our team packing woolly goods for customers worldwide.

Open all year round from Monday to Friday, 9:30-5pm, at quieter times of the year we may close from 1-2pm for lunch, please call in advance and we can make sure we’re there.
