This pretty, Victorian cottage sits in the former kitchen garden of C17th Yorke House (now demolished). The cottage looks over a pretty garden with beautiful views beyond. Just 5-minutes’ walk from the door are Richmond Market Place, independent shops, cafes and restaurants and riverside & woodland walks, enjoying the best of town and country. Accommodation This delightful cottage sleeps 6 in 3 first-floor bedrooms with 1 en-suite and 1 family bathroom.

The ground floor kitchen and living/dining room look over the garden and there is a downstairs loo. The entrance corridor has room for boots, prams etc. Outside Enclosed, south-facing private garden with garden furniture. Off-street parking. Children and pets welcome (one or two dogs stay free). Riverside walks lead to the waterfall, the restored Victorian station, now a café bar with a 3-screen cinema and artisan shops, on to C12th Easby Abbey and C12th century Saint Agatha’s Church, with rare C13th wall paintings. Walks abound, including the disused Georgian racecourse with marvellous views. MayFest brings a weekend of music in early May and in September the Walking and Book Festival is held. The Georgian Theatre Royal offers a full programme. Garden Cottage is just a short drive from the Dales and less than 10 minutes from the A1M and A66 for days out further afield.
