Dove Tree Art Gallery

Tucked away in central Harrogate, the Dove Tree Art Gallery is the creative sanctuary of celebrated Yorkshire artist Anita Bowerman. Housed inside a charming 19th-century coach house reimagined in an airy French atelier style, this dual studio and gallery offers visitors a direct look at original artworks, limited-edition prints, and gifts created in the heart of North Yorkshire.

 Anita’s work is renowned for its vivid, uplifting palette in watercolour, gouache, and acrylic. Her subjects celebrate iconic local landmarks—including Harrogate’s Valley Gardens, The Stray, and the historic Montpellier Quarter—alongside sweeping vistas of the wider Yorkshire countryside.

What makes her technique distinctive is her tactile connection to the landscape: Anita frequently paints outdoors in all seasons, eschewing traditional brushes to use fallen twigs, dried moss, and wild leaves gathered on site to apply paint directly onto canvas and paper.
