Buckden is a small village and civil parish located in Upper Wharfedale within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, approximately 30km north of the market town of Skipton.

The village is situated along the River Wharfe and at the foot of Buckden Pike, which rises to an elevation of 702m and contains a memorial to Polish airmen who crashed there in 1942. The village also serves walkers taking on the long-distance Dales Way footpath.

The settlement consists primarily of 18th and 19th-century limestone buildings. Local amenities include a National Park Authority car park, public toilets, a village shop, and a pub. The car park is registered as a Dark Sky Discovery Site - an accessible location for stargazing.

Nearby landmarks include the 12th-century St Michael and All Angels Church in Hubberholme.
