If you are looking for some fine dining then 1881 is the place to be. Serving delicious contemporary British cuisine in classic surroundings with views from the vast windows across to the national park. Gold glistens from the hand-blocked wallpaper and antique mirrors, lit by beautiful gilt wall lights set above polished oak panelling.
Meals are freshly prepared by our brigade of chefs, using ingredients from the kitchen gardens and game sourced from local estates, depending on the season, with an ever‑changing menu. Dining may be enjoyed in either the oak‑panelled 1881 Restaurant or Library, and a lunch menu is available, along with Afternoon & Champagne Teas in the bar or, on favourable days, on the Terrace or Veranda, with views over the surrounding countryside.
