The game is afoot...

Few fictional creations have captured the imagination quite like Sherlock Holmes. More than a century after Arthur Conan Doyle introduced the world's most famous detective, Holmes and his universe continue to inspire countless adaptations, reinventions and new mysteries.

Now acclaimed crime writer Jack Anderson turns the spotlight on the man behind the crimes: Sherlock Holmes's legendary nemesis, Professor James Moriarty. In The Mark of Moriarty, the thrilling sequel to The Return of Moriarty, Anderson transforms the master criminal into the hero of his own dark and ingenious adventure-perfect for fans of Anthony Horowitz and Laurie R. King.

Joining him is one of Britain's foremost authorities on crime fiction, Martin Edwards, described by Richard Osman as "a true master of British crime writing".

President of the world-famous Detection Club, a recipient of the CWA Diamond Dagger and consultant to the British Library's celebrated Crime Classics series, Martin has written more than 20 novels and edited numerous acclaimed anthologies. His latest Rachel Savernake Golden Age Mystery, Hemlock Bay, continues his exploration of classic crime's enduring appeal.

Together they'll delve into the secrets of detective fiction and why the golden age of crime continues to captivate readers today.

A must for anyone who enjoys a perfectly plotted crime.
