Clay Story Tiles Workshop - The Station

Shut out the noise of the outside world and tune into your soul!

Under the instruction of Mudbox Studio’s experienced educator and ceramicist Jam Westwood, learn how to make a piece of personalised clay tile art with explorative decoration - preserving a little piece of your inside world forever! Jam’s ‘story’ based ceramics featured on Channel 4 when she was interviewed by Sir Grayson Perry in 2022, she has held solo shows across the UK and last year her ceramic vases were featured at The Crafts Council’s prestigious ‘Collect’ show.

With a focus on words, stories numbers and symbols which directly link to you, you will create a tile which is a truly personal, unique work of art. Over three hours you will learn how to handle and roll clay tiles, how to sgraffito and monoprint with slips and underglazes and how to collage and fix 3D features to your 12x12 ceramic tile design. Your work will be glazed and kiln-fired afterwards, before collection. This workshop is suitable for all abilities.
