The first of a 2-parter from Bill taking a brief look at the pre-grouping Highland Railway, it's infrastructure, trains and locomotives from early days to the current scene.

Part 1 covers the lines from Perth north to Inverness and from Inverness east to Keith .

Giggleswick Railway Circle (GRC) is a voluntary group that holds regular meetings for anyone interested in railways.

Normally our meetings are held at 10.30 on the 4th Wednesday monthly, but please check the diary before travelling.
GRC is not a club; all are welcome to the meetings, and there is no subscription or membership needed. Refreshments are included in the admission charge.
