Pictures at an Exhibition. London City Ballet film screening with live piano, Reina Okada - Holy Trinity Church

Ripon Concerts welcomes pianist Reina Okada for an afternoon centred around Mussorgsky's iconic Pictures at an Exhibition, performed live in its original piano version. The first half features a wide-ranging programme: Chopin's "Aeolian Harp" tude, Beethoven's Pathtique Sonata, Bach's Prelude in B minor (arranged by Siloti), Debussy's Images, Book 1, and Scriabin's tude Op.8 No.12. After the interval, Okada performs Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition live, accompanying a screening ofLondon City Ballet'sproduction, choreographed by Alexei Ratmansky.

Reina Okada has been praised for her interpretation of the work, with Bachtrack noting her ability to capture the grandeur of the Great Gate of Kiev, the humour of the Chickens and the menace of Gnomus.
