Coaches vs Veterans Charity Shield Match - Sowerby Sports Village

Last year Thirsk Falcons FC held its inaugural Coaches vs Vets Charity Shield match in memory of the late Dave Whitfield who lost his life in December 2023 to Cushing’s disease caused by a pituitary brain tumour, raising funds in aid of The Brain Charity. This event has now become an annual event, and this year we are pleased to confirm that we will again be supporting one of our own – Abbie Hampshire – a nine year old member our Comets family.

Thirsk Falcons FC are proud to provide inclusive access to a wide spectrum of the local community whether it be via Fledglings (for the youngest football enthusiasts ages 4-7) and Wildcats (non-competitive football for Girls aged 5 – 11) – in partnership with GW Football Academy; or via Comets (Pan-disability football for 5-11 year olds), U7/U8 mixed Teams, numerous Boys and Girls teams at the various age groups up to U16s, as well as having an U17s Team, A Women’s Team, a Seniors Team, a Veterans Team, and our most recent addition Walking Football for the over 50s. A truly diverse and inclusive offering.
