About Free Community Yoga in Valley Gardens - Valley Gardens

To mark International Yoga Day, local yoga teacher Guneet Khurana, founder of Ujjayi Yoga, is offering a free, inclusive community yoga session in the serene surroundings of Valley Gardens, Harrogate — open to all levels, including complete beginners.

Just walk in. Attendees are invited to bring a yoga mat, water, and a blanket or a cushion if they wish. Wear comfortable clothes. The session will include gentle movement, breathing techniques (pranayama), meditation, and will close with soothing AUM chanting to leave participants feeling grounded and calm.
Guneet, who lives in Killinghall, is passionate about sharing the deeper meaning of yoga beyond just movement.
“Yoga is for everybody. It’s not about twisting into a pretzel and yoga is definitely not a gym workout – it’s a way of life. For me, yoga is about calming the mind through breath, meditation, chanting, and daily mindfulness. If you can breathe, you can do yoga.”

This is a free, welcoming event where the local community can connect, move, and breathe together in nature — celebrating not only International Yoga Day, but also the universal values of calm, unity, and wellbeing.
